Oneida Community Melon Well and Tree Meat Platter

Here we have a serving platter made by Oneida, silver plated, and in very good condition! Key on platters like these is that nothing has broken off, or that no copper is showing from where the silver plating has worn away. This specimen qualifies on both counts! The only knock is that there is a good amount of scratches on the surface, though this is expected from this line, which was probably made in the 1950s or 1960s. And no copper shows through the scratches, so they aren't that deep.
18" long, 13" wide, and 2" tall. You can see from the pictures how great it looks! And it is heavy enough to provide the kind of stability a carving tray needs. Item number is 0214-4, though we can't find anything on the internet that adequately explains what this number actually means. Not unusual for MCM items!
