Asparagus Tray and Forks Silver Plated

The Sheffield Silver Co is still around today, and for that reason we are looking at this set and declaring that we cannot claim this to be vintage. Indeed, judging from the typeface on the back of the forks, it is our guess that these were made in the 21st century. However, they are definitely silver plated, and for that reason Static Frog is comfortable offering this set for sale.
As you can see from the pictures, the silver is quite gorgeous. The two serving forks are in excellent condition, and almost 13" long. One is from the Sheffield Silver Co, and was made in Italy (there is a small stamp on the back of the fork). The other is a Gerity Clover G48 fork. The two forks are nearly identical. Even if one did not have the tray with which we are selling these, their function as salad forks would not be called into question.
But the tray is its own story. This is an asparagus tray from the mid 20th century, which we can divine by the older Sheffield logo on the bottom, and the wear on the edges of the lettering that makes it clearly an older piece. The tray is only slightly longer than 13", and 5" wide and a bit under 2" deep. These trays were often sold with a wire rack on the bottom, which would drain the asparagus; alas, this tray no longer has this feature. Oddly, the silver is in such good condition on the bottom that one is compelled to ask if the previous owner was really a fan of asparagus in the first place.
Two caveats we wish to point out: one, the tray has some very slight copper showing through a couple of the beads at one end, just barely making itself known. Two, you see there is also a spoon in the picture; we are including this as a free item, as the spoon has some damage but is of similar design as the other forks. Functionally, however, it is 100% useful.
For those who enjoy having specialized silver at the dinner table, this is right up your alley! Especially if you serve a lot of asparagus or other similar-shaped vegetables at the table.
