Salt and Pepper Shakers

This is a mismatched set we found of sterling silver weighted shakers. One is a Fisher pattern 454 shaker; that alone is an Art Deco-era piece, made in the USA, and worth the price of both! The other one is also sterling weighted, but there is no manufacturer mark; it just says patent pending. About 5" tall, maybe 1 1/2" in diameter on the bottom.
Not surprisingly, they show a lot of wear marks. We successfully untarnished them for maximum shininess, but it is clear that these were used a lot. As they should! There are small dents in them, but if you want a real vintage piece, this is what they look like. And they do still function just fine; the fact that they are mismatched makes it easier to determine which is salt and which is pepper, so it may be an advantage. They will class up an early 21st century dinner table!
Silver plating should only be handled with appropriate silver tarnish wipes or with silver polish on a soft cloth. DO NOT use abrasives! The tarnish will come right off with the proper polish, you need not rub with anything more than your hands. Other metals are dependent on their exact type, but we are happy to email you with our recommendations.
