Silver Treasures

Silver is one of the more underappreciated metals of the world. It is the fastest conductor of the metals; both for heat and electricity, silver is easily the fastest. It is also the most reflective, though of course that gets compromised when it tarnishes - probably the only real disadvantage that silver displays. It does not rust or corrode, but it does tarnish as a result of reacting to sulfur in the air. This is easily seen in many urban areas, where auto exhaust and manufacturing pollution impart higher amounts of sulfur than rural areas. This tarnish is easily removed, however: use a cleaner or wipes designed specifically for silver, and you will see the wonderful reflective metal come right back to life. DO NOT use abrasives of any kind, they are not necessary. Also DO NOT use Brasso; while Brasso is great for copper-based metals, it will scratch silver in no time at all. One other fun fact about silver is that it is naturally antibacterial; it is used extensively for ointments, water treatment, and bandages, and using silver flatware has been known for centuries to have health benefits. So you see, other than the tarnish, silver is really great! Add some to your home today!

Here is a truly unique piece that belongs on a wine bar! And you want unique? We can't find this anywhere. It was made in Italy, as engraved on the bottom. Rather than a lift-up lid, it features a removable cork which is also plated silver. From our research we estimate this is from the mid 20th century, probably right after World War II. And note the dragon that acts as the handle!

There are a few stains here and there on the metal, and the glass has some very minor nicks, but overall this is in very good shape, and looks really good as part of a bar ensemble.

Here we have a silver-plated duck bowl, which in itself would be nice enough, but there is a signature on the bottom that our AI bots are 100% convinced means it came from the Christofle Lumiere collection, which was manufactured in the late 1980s. It is 13" long, and 6 1/2" in height and width. A great piece for fruit or other colorful objects!

This is in fantastic condition;
